It’s veganly organic, started in the hood of Williamsburg. Hip Pop is made 100% from coop ingredients and popped in coconut oil.
Mountain Rose Herbs is voluntarily recalling whole fennel seeds from lot #25031 due to a secondary test indicating the presence of salmonella. If you bought whole fennel seeds after May, you may have purchased a portion of the recalled lot. You can return the whole fennel seeds at the coop for a refund. Please bring a receipt if you have it.
Consequently, we will be out of fennel seeds for awhile. Thank you for your cooperation.
I was so excited to see plantains at the co-op a couple of weeks ago because I finally got the chance to try out this recipe from The Kitchenista Diaries for plantains stuffed with black beans and cheese.
One of my favorite things about shopping at the co-op is the high quality seasonal produce. These plantains were grown in Mexico and sold through Organics Unlimited, an organization known for its strong commitment to social responsibility. Their Giving Resources and Opportunities to Workers (GROW) program helps provide clean drinking water and educational, dental and vision services for farm workers and their communities.

We’re closing early Saturday May 25th at 3pm for inventory, so please come and shop early. Make sure to stock up because we’re also closed Monday May 27th for Memorial Day.
Jen’s Little Pies are delicious, delectable little treats that we’ll start selling Saturday March 23rd for $6 each. These apple, blueberry, and coconut pies are made with organic ingredients available at the co-op, except for the organic wild blueberries that are not available in the store.

One of our newest products is Lavva yogurt. It’s a delicious vegan and gluten-free yogurt made with coconut, lime, plantain, cassava, and the southeast Asian Pili nut. See the Lavva website for more information.
Now in the most dangerous section of the coop, we have Lancaster Food Co Sprouted Choc Chip Cookies. These low allergen treats are made with fair trade chocolate and sugar. Yum.
