This is a work in progress.
The logic behind this is.. Receiving shifts run the risk of beceoming more and more hectic and distracted, and there are certain steps that are higher priority than others. If boxes are left out, with the proper price written on them, later shifts will be able to stock them. But if the shift becomes chaotic, or you run out of time, other shifts will NOT know what items are special orders, whether prices have changed, and how to call into United for credits.
Can be done before shipment arrives:
- Check for return items
- Price checking vs. bin prices and register price sheet, mark internal printout on right side
- Collect Reeds bottles
- Collect totes/bins
Stocking shipment:
- Mark out of stock items on internal printout, mark on left side
- Make labels for special orders. Write "Special order" the current date, contact info name, number, and whether they have been called.
- Attach labels to special orders. Small special order items go in special order bin.
- Mark item boxes with prices, mark internal printout on left side.
- Deal with ay problems in the shipment
- Missing item - Call United claims for credit - Email Dan
- Extra item - Call United claims, ask them what to do. Sometimes they don't ask for the item to be returned.
- Mislabeled item - Call United claim for credit - Email Dan
- Stock items
